Laredo, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents at the Border Patrol Checkpoint on Interstate Highway (IH) 35, north of Laredo, Texas on August 11 encountered a tractor-trailer at the primary inspection lane.  The driver and passenger were questioned regarding their immigration status and referred to secondary after a Border Patrol canine alerted to the presence of concealed humans and/or narcotics.  Agents instructed the driver to go to secondary inspection, when it failed to stop and continued north on IH 35.  Agents attempted a vehicle stop and the tractor trailer came to a stop near mile maker 30 on IH 35.

Tucson, Arizona - Wednesday morning in Tucson, FBI agents arrested a local attorney and his assistant for allegedly obstructing justice, tampering with a witness and assisting an offender in avoiding apprehension in a criminal case, announced United States Attorney John F. Bash of the Western District of Texas and FBI Special Agent in Charge Michael DeLeon, Phoenix Field Office.

Roma, Texas - U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations formally announced today at a change of command ceremony held at the Roma Independent School’s Performing Arts Center the selection of Andres Guerra as the new port director for the Roma Port of Entry. Guerra succeeds Crescencio (Cris) Cantu, the previous port director, who retired last year.
