Laredo, Texas - Laredo Sector Border Patrol in partnership with the Texas Joint Counterdrug Task Force, City of Laredo, Laredo Independent School District, and the Laredo Police Department on Aug. 17 conducted an anti-drug presentation at Farias Elementary. The presentation was followed by the demolition of an abandoned home right across the school as part of Operation Crackdown. The properties are identified by Border Patrol, the Laredo Police Department and other law enforcement agencies as a nuisance and or susceptible to exploitation by criminal elements.

“Knock it down!” is what the children from Farias Elementary chanted as the Texas Counter Drug Task Force excavator tore down the house.

“This demolition marks the 115th property successfully demolished as part of Operation Crackdown for Laredo.  The U.S. Border Patrol is extremely pleased to participate in Operation Crackdown and making our community become a better and safer place,” said Laredo Sector Acting Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens.
