Massena, New York - On September 8, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Officers at the Massena Port of Entry intercepted a Canadian citizen born in Pakistan who had been previously deported.

Ali Haider PASHA was previously ordered removed from the United States and deported on May 10, 2018 due to being charged with two counts of “Dangerous Drugs” and one count of “Evidence-Destroying.”  Criminal prosecution was accepted by the Assistant United States Attorney.  “Our highly trained CBP Officers remain vigilant at intercepting individuals who are inadmissible and attempt to circumvent the law and enter the United States.,” said CBP Massena Port Director Robert Dwyer.

Ali Haider PASHA appeared September 11, 2018 before US Magistrate Judge Favro facing charges for violation of Title 8 United States Code Section 1326 for attempting to re-enter the U.S. after a previous deportation.  If found guilty in criminal court, PASHA faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.  The subject was remanded into custody until his detention hearing.
